Binding: Highly decorative original binding with metal frame, inlaid bone/celluloid-style panels, gilt floral ornaments, and a central cartouche featuring the Tablets of the Ten Commandments (with Hebrew text). Brass clasp closure. Oriental/Art-Nouveau influenced design typical of luxury Schlesinger editions.

Size: Approx. 20 x 13 cm

This is Volume I of the Machzor series published by the well-known Jos. Schlesinger house in Vienna. It contains the complete liturgy, piyyutim, and prayers for Rosh Hashanah according to the traditional rite (likely Sephardic or related communities, as common in these editions).
