Vintage Realistic stereo receiver and speakers!
Vintage Realistic brand stereo equipment. The receiver is the STA-42. It is 28 watts per channel for 130 total. The small bookshelf speakers are the Minimus 5. The good: the receiver is in excellent cosmetic condition. I completed the cosmetic work and intended to replace the burned out bulbs and do any internal work but am simply out of time and room! This receiver can accommodate a turntable, a device through the AUX including a Bluetooth receiver, and another device through the tape in port. The receiver will also accommodate two sets of speakers. The bad: this receiver needs bulbs! Can be purchased online on either LED or traditional fuse style bulbs. I haven’t did any work to the internals of the receiver and like all vintage gear it’d benefit from a look through. Minimus 5: The good: they sound pretty good for their size! I have several pairs of Realistic speakers and would compare these to somewhere between the Nova 4 and the Minimus 7. They are a great size and handle 8ohms. They also feature the standard speaker screw hookups but can also accommodate a RCA-Plug-to-Lugs Speaker Cable from Amazon.com The bad: the prior owner started to refinish the wood veneer but didn’t finish! There is some water staining but no cabinet separation. So the cabs need a facelift!
